Carpal Tunnel Surgery

Relieve Pressure.
Restore Function.
Reclaim Comfort.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs when the median nerve in the wrist is compressed, causing pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness. If splints, injections, or therapy no longer help, carpal tunnel release surgery can alleviate pressure and restore hand function.

At Meadowlark Surgical Centre, this procedure is performed by board-certified Plastic Surgeons in a fully accredited private facility—designed for efficient, low-disruption recovery with expert care every step of the way.

Surgical Relief For Persistent Hand Numbness or Pain

  • You may be a candidate if you:

    • Have ongoing numbness or tingling in your fingers

    • Experience grip weakness or hand fatigue

    • Have a confirmed diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome

    • Have not found relief from non-surgical treatments

A physician referral is often required. In some cases, a nerve conduction study will be recommended prior to consultation.

  • Carpal tunnel release is a focused, day-surgery procedure performed under local anesthesia. It involves:

    • A small incision in the palm or wrist

    • Releasing the transverse carpal ligament to relieve pressure

    • Closing the area with internal sutures and a protective dressing

The entire procedure takes 20–30 minutes, and you’ll return home the same day.

  • Every surgical journey at Meadowlark begins with thoughtful preparation. Prior to your procedure, our team will guide you through a personalized plan that supports optimal healing and confidence:

    • Medical-Grade Skincare: Tailored regimens to strengthen skin barrier function, reduce inflammation, and support even healing. Often includes antioxidants, exfoliants, or targeted hydration.

    • Laser Pre-Treatment (if appropriate): Halo™ or BBL® laser therapy may be recommended for patients with scarring, textural irregularities, or skin tone concerns. This primes the skin for smoother post-op results.

    • Collaborative Surgical Planning: Your Plastic Surgeon works closely with our Cosmetic Nurses and Laser Specialists to align timing, skin health, and follow-up care—creating a seamless, team-driven approach.
