Lip Reduction

Refined Shape.
Natural Balance.
Confident Expression.

Lip Reduction is a straightforward, outpatient procedure designed to reduce the size or projection of the lips—most commonly the lower lip. It improves balance, addresses asymmetry, and refines shape for a more harmonious facial profile.

At Meadowlark Surgical Centre & Cosmetic Clinic, this procedure is performed by board-certified Plastic Surgeons in a discreet, fully accredited surgical suite. Every result is tailored to your natural features and long-term confidence.

Subtle Refinement for Facial Harmony

  • You may be a candidate if you:

    • Feel your lips are disproportionately large or full

    • Experience imbalance between upper and lower lips

    • Seek refinement after previous trauma, filler, or surgery

    • Are in good health with realistic expectations

During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your facial anatomy and dental alignment to ensure your results are both natural and balanced.

  • Performed under local anesthesia, a lip reduction includes:

    • Removing a thin strip of tissue from inside the lip

    • Repositioning the lip tissue for improved shape and contour

    • Internal sutures that dissolve naturally—no visible scarring

The procedure usually takes under an hour and is done in-office or in our surgical suite, depending on your comfort and care plan.

  • Every surgical journey at Meadowlark begins with thoughtful preparation. Prior to your procedure, our team will guide you through a personalized plan that supports optimal healing and confidence:

    • Medical-Grade Skincare: Tailored regimens to strengthen skin barrier function, reduce inflammation, and support even healing. Often includes antioxidants, exfoliants, or targeted hydration.

    • Laser Pre-Treatment (if appropriate): Halo™ or BBL® laser therapy may be recommended for patients with scarring, textural irregularities, or skin tone concerns. This primes the skin for smoother post-op results.

    • Collaborative Surgical Planning: Your Plastic Surgeon works closely with our Cosmetic Nurses and Laser Specialists to align timing, skin health, and follow-up care—creating a seamless, team-driven approach.

    • Most patients experience:

      • Swelling and tightness for 5–7 days

      • Light activity within 2–3 days

      • Visible volume reduction within 2 weeks

      • Final contour refinement over 1–3 months

Because incisions are placed inside the mouth, healing is discreet and usually quick.

Post-procedure care is supported by our Cosmetic Team, with:

    • Oral care instructions and healing guidance

    • Cold compress protocols to manage swelling

    • Anti-inflammatory skincare and optional post-healing laser

    • Ongoing follow-up to support softening and symmetry

  • Lip reduction is low-risk and highly predictable when performed by an experienced surgeon. Risks may include:

    • Swelling, bruising, or mild discomfort

    • Temporary numbness or tightness

    • Asymmetry or irregular healing (rare)

    • Minor infection or delayed healing inside the mouth

All risks will be thoroughly discussed during your consultation with your surgical team.

    • Board-certified Plastic Surgeons skilled in subtle facial refinement

    • No external scarring—incisions hidden inside the mouth

    • Accredited private facility for maximum discretion

    • Integrated recovery support and long-term follow-up
