Meet the Surgical Team

A Philosophy Built on Collaboration and Care
Because your results are only as extraordinary as the team behind them.
At Meadowlark Surgical Centre, excellence isn’t an individual pursuit, it’s a shared standard across every role involved in your care. Each surgeon practices in a private, fully accredited facility that is accredited by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta, reinforcing a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Your experience is supported by a coordinated team that includes surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nursing staff, and dedicated perioperative and administrative professionals, working in sync to keep care seamless and attentive. From consultation through recovery, decisions are made with you, combining careful planning and clinical precision so your outcome feels both refined and personal.
This unified approach gives patients something rare: surgeon-led expertise, backed by a full circle of supportive, high-standard care, delivered right here in Edmonton.
Surgical Excellence, Defined by Experience
Board-certified plastic surgeons. One shared vision: natural, confident results.
Each of our surgeons brings a unique background, advanced fellowship training, and decades of experience to the operating room, united by one philosophy: that safety, artistry, and empathy are inseparable. Together, they represent one of Alberta’s most accomplished teams in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Adil Ladak, FRCSC
Dr. Ladak’s care starts with listening—then translating your goals into a plan that feels clear, thoughtful, and proportionate. Trained at the University of Alberta (including the Clinical Investigator Program), certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and fellowship-trained in comprehensive breast and aesthetic surgery, he brings 12+ years of surgical experience to natural-looking, balanced results. Outside the OR, he enjoys hockey and pickleball—routines that help keep him focused and energized, and reflect the steadiness he brings to planning and follow-up.

Dr. Brandon Ball, FRCSC
Patients often choose Dr. Ball for his calm presence and straightforward guidance, so decisions feel confident, not rushed. With medical school and plastic surgery training at the University of Alberta, an advanced fellowship in hand and upper limb surgery in London, Ontario, and 10 years in practice, he takes a tailored approach aligned with your goals and realistic expectations. Outside the OR, he enjoys building furniture with an artistic flair, an interest that mirrors the craftsmanship and patience he brings to surgical detail.

Dr. Gorman Louie, FRCSC
With decades of experience and a strong reconstructive foundation, Dr. Louie brings seasoned judgment to every recommendation, especially when the details matter most. With 38 years in practice and a focus that includes facial trauma and secondary reconstruction, patients can expect personalized planning rooted in communication, availability, and safety. Outside the OR, he enjoys stamp collecting, an interest that reflects the patience and attention to detail he brings to meticulous surgical planning.

Dr. James Wolfli, FRCSC
Dr. Wolfli is focused on meaningful change with a steady eye on safety, what’s possible, what’s wise, and what will age well over time. He earned his MD from the University of Calgary, completed FRCSC Plastic Surgery training at the University of Alberta, and pursued fellowship training in oculoplastic/aesthetic surgery and breast reconstruction; he is now entering his 20th year of practice. Outside the OR, he enjoys hockey and tennis—pursuits that reflect the focus and consistency he brings to hands-on care and close post-operative follow-up.

Dr. Joshua DeSerres, FRCSC
Dr. DeSerres is known for his meticulous attention to detail and comprehensive consultations, grounded in the belief that exceptional results begin with a plan tailored specifically to you. He earned his BMSc and MD from the University of Alberta, completed a five-year Plastic Surgery residency (FRCSC), and pursued advanced fellowship training in Adult Craniofacial Surgery at the University of Toronto, focusing on reconstructive and aesthetic facial surgery. Committed to continuous growth, he regularly collaborates with leading plastic surgeons around the world to stay at the forefront of evolving techniques and innovations. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hockey, golf, tennis, snowboarding, and time with his family—grounding pursuits that reflect the balanced approach he brings to patient care.

Dr. Lisa Korus, FRCSC
Dr. Korus blends advanced surgical training with a deeply supportive style of care, so patients feel understood, prepared, and held through the full experience. She completed medical school and plastic surgery residency at the University of Alberta, pursued subspecialty training in hand, breast, and cosmetic breast surgery, and earned a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins, focused on patient outcomes after surgery. Outside the OR, she enjoys staying active, whether that’s chasing her toddlers, taking a Lagree class, or getting outside with her wirehaired pointing griffon, an energy that reflects her warm, steady presence in the consult room and beyond.

Dr. Martin J. Giuffre, FRCSC
With 44 years in practice, Dr. Giuffre’s reputation is built on transparent education, realistic expectations, and follow-up that supports healing over time. A University of Alberta graduate (BMSc; MD with Distinction) and FRCSC-trained plastic surgeon who remains actively involved in teaching and mentorship, he brings decades of experience to both cosmetic and reconstructive care. Outside of surgery, he values family time, travel, exploration, and staying active, interests that reflect the curiosity and steadiness he brings to patient-centered care.
